More than a Bathmat

Bathroom floors need to be able to withstand damp humid
conditions. For this reason, I would not recommend the fitting of
wood or wood laminates to these areas. If you want wood effect in
your bathroom vinyl wood planking is a good alternative. |
| Vinyl, vinyl tiles and linoleum make good flooring for
bathrooms that will withstand any amount of splashing and still
look good. Care should be take to avoid slipping on these floors.
Some of these floors are non-slip, these should always be used
for elderly or disabled persons. |

There are carpets specifically designed for use in bathrooms.
These have a rubber, waffle backing and come in narrow widths to
avoid waste. These carpets will look good longer than ordinary
carpets but eventually will succumb to damp and rot. If you want
a carpet to look good in your bathroom, I would recommend you buy
a cheap felt backed one and replace it every 12 to 18
months. |
