Q. Should I buy flooring over the internet?

The internet is fantastic for selecting potential suppliers of your flooring. You can see the type of materials they can supply and get an idea of the quality of installations. However flooring is something that you need to see and touch. It is absolutely essential that you see the flooring you are thinking of buying in your own home. This allows you to check the colour against your decor and furnishings. Ideally you want to see your chosen flooring in daylight and artificial light. So wherever you buy your flooring from make sure you can get a sample brought to your home.

We have an online shop at www.sgflooring-online.co.uk you can see some of the products we have to offer, you can send for samples of up to three products. However if you want to see larger samples and get a quote including all the accessories (eg underlay) and fitting just give us a call and we will happily come and visit you at home.

Q. How can I make sure I get a good flooring fitter?

Word of mouth recommendation is the best way to find any kind of tradesman to do work around your home. Our business has been built on recommendation and we have to thank all our customers for being our unpaid sales team. However if you are new to an area this isn’t always easy so I would recommend looking for a floor fitter from the National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers. They have different grades of membership including Trainee, Approved and Masterfitter. I have been a Masterfitter since 1995 years and I am actively involved training new flooring fitters. You can search on the NICF website by area.

Q. Lots of Flooring companies offer “Free Fitting” and sometimes even “Free Underlay”. Do you?

Did you ever hear the old saying that “nothing is free”? We think our customers are intelligent enough to realise that nothing is ever really free. Companies who offer free fitting simply raise the price of the flooring, overcharge for accessories like underlay or lower the price they pay to fitters to compensate. I think you will also be surprised at how competitive our prices are compared to the companies that say they offer ‘Free’ fitting. In all our prices there are no hidden extras. What Stewart Groom does offer for customers in our area are FREE no obligation quotes and advice on their new floors. So why call or email us now to request a home visit.

Please note: The prices on our new online shop at www.sgflooring-online.co.uk are for the supply and delivery of the flooring product only.

Q.What guarantees do you offer ?

  • You only pay us when you are 100% satisfied with our craftsmanship. We do not expect to be paid if you are not happy.
  • We fully support all the manufacturers guarantees. If there is a manufacturers fault, we will ensure the manufacturer replaces the flooring.

Q. Will you “price match” quotes from other retailers ?

We believe in offering good value for money and our customers tell us our prices are competitive. For this reason we are not prepared to enter a bidding war to see who can offer the very lowest price. To do this we would have to cut corners on the quality of service we offer.

Q. What methods of payment do you accept ?

We accept cash, building society cheques, VISA and Mastercard credit cards,  or Visa Debit cards.

Q. Can I buy flooring from you to fit myself ?

Yes. Visit our online store www.sgflooring-online.co.uk where you can see a wide range of carpets, vinyls, rugs, ceramic tiles, wood laminates and engineered wood available through ourselves. The site shows you how to measure your rooms. You order and pay online and provided there is stock we will deliver within 5 working days. Whats more delivery is free and you don’t have to fold your carpet to get it into your hatchback or ruin your suspension bringing home 10 packs of wood laminate.
