A Welcoming Entrance
|
 |
The hallway takes the most wear in terms of the dirt from outside, so choose a flooring
that can be cleaned easily and does not show the dirt. You should always invest in a good
door mat to protect your flooring from damp and dirt. The tiny particles of grit that people
bring in from outside will scratch floors and damage carpet fibres. |
|
For hallways carpets, vinyl, natural flooring, wood and wood laminates are good choices.
It is not recommended that wood, wood laminates, vinyl or Seagrass are fitted on stairs as
these are all to slippery. |

Carpets need to be very hard wearing. Carpets with short dense piles are recommended.
Natural flooring such as coir and seagrass are very tough and make a good choice for hallways.
Wood and wood laminates are good for hallways too. Another alternative for a hallway is
linoleum or designer vinyl tiles like Karndean. With the use of borders or designs these can make a very attractive
and practical entrance to your home. |
